Inside our latest newsletter, we’re sharing updates on IWAV services, next steps in the Norton Road affordable housing project, and the importance of building sustainable, monthly support for the work happening every day across the Southern Gulf Islands.
At IWAV, we provide counselling, advocacy, crisis response, prevention programs, emergency shelter, second-stage housing, and affordable housing support for people experiencing violence and abuse. These services are professional, confidential, and free—and they exist because our community, supporters, and partners continue to step forward to support them.
In 2025 alone:
• IWAV’s 24/7 Crisis Line responded to 457 calls
• 50 women and children stayed at our Transition House
• 13 women and 10 children stayed at The Cedars second-stage housing program
• More than 100 individuals accessed counselling, sexual assault support, advocacy, and related services
As our work continues to grow, so does the need for stable, predictable funding.
Every day, IWAV provides counselling, advocacy, crisis response, and prevention programs across the Southern Gulf Islands. This work is ongoing—and it depends on having reliable, predictable funding. Monthly giving helps support that stability. It allows us to plan ahead, respond when someone reaches out, and ensure that help is consistently available across our community.
Small monthly gifts add up. This is why monthly giving matters so much. You can find out more about donating to IWAV and becoming a monthly donor here.
Even modest monthly gifts add up over time, monthly donations strengthen our ability to help and support Islanders, every single day.
We are currently working to grow our Monthly Donor Circle and invite community members to be part of sustaining our work and supporting those who need our services.
