Who is Outreach For?
Outreach is here to help all women, inclusive of cis, trans and non-binary women who are impacted by violence and/or abuse on Salt Spring, Galiano, Mayne, Pender, and Saturna Islands. This includes:
- Women whose lives are impacted by violence and/or abuse
- Women who are contemplating leaving an abusive relationship
- Women who are no longer in an abusive relationship but are still impacted by it
What does Outreach do?
Individuals: Outreach provides trauma-informed support to clients through counselling, advocacy, risk management, education, and assistance navigating the criminal and family court systems.
Community: Outreach develops strong relationships with other service providers and collaborates with community partners in order to keep clients safe. Outreach promotes IWAV’s services through education sessions, print and digital media, and community events. Outreach also sits on several inter-agency committees and represents IWAV.
Outreach Services may be offered:
- on an individual basis
- in support groups
- in group information sessions or educational workshops
- in the community through awareness raising and education
