Film Screening for “Survival” & Recruiting for “Solidarity”

YOU’RE INVITED!

Join us for an important Video Screening & Discussion Panel Event on Sexualized Violence hosted by the SSS Youth Project Series team.

This is the 2nd phase of the project, and it’s all about Survival: what to do if you or someone you know has been assaulted, how to support yourself or a friend in need, where to find resources and help. We have 3 new videos to share.

Saturday, January 11, 2025
Mahon Hall, Salt Spring Island
5:30–7 PM

What to Expect

5:00 PM: Doors open
5:30–6:30 PM: Video screening & discussion panel featuring powerful youth voices on safety and sexualized violence
6:30–7:00 PM: Interactive art and small group discussions, followed by fresh baked pizza and prize draws

Snacks, prizes, and music will be provided!

This is an amazing opportunity to hear from local youths and engage in a conversation that truly matters to the young people of our island. Whether you’re a youth, a parent, a mentor, an advocate for youths, or just want to learn more about how we can support the youths in our community, we’d love to see you there!

Our last screening was a great success with about 38 attendees. We were so grateful for the community interest and discussion with our project team.

Let’s come together to support and listen to the youth of Salt Spring Island. Looking forward to connecting with you!

We’re Recruiting for Our Final Phase

The next phase starts January 14 and is about SOLIDARITY. This phase will run until the end of March 29, when we will present our final screening to the Salt Spring community.
